Flower Constancy
Gallery 2
19 July – 9 August
Opening: Saturday 19th July 2 – 4 pm
Flower Constancy explores the mysterious appeal of flowers through an experimental photographic process inspired by the behaviour of foraging bees.
Inspired by the behaviour of bees, who often return to the same type of flower again and again, these photographic works explore how repetition and attention can reveal something new each time.
These works are created using historic photographic emulsion applied by hand onto delicate silk. The resulting images respond to illumination and viewing angle, transforming each piece into an image-object that offers shifting interpretations of the floral subject.
Like a bee returning to a bloom, you’re encouraged to revisit each piece and notice how it changes. What you see depends on how you look.
