“This exhibition features a curated selection of my landscape, still life works and portraits created over the past ten years. This collection reflects a decade of exploration—of places that inspire me and the objects that surround me in my studio and daily life. Each piece is a personal reflection of my connection to these scenes”
Biography
Effie Mandalos is an Australian artist renowned for her evocative portraits and commitment to arts education. A graduate of Monash University, she brings almost three decades of experience in teaching and course coordination across various institutions, shaping the creative paths of many emerging artists.
In 2009, Mandalos established the Rings Road Art Studio in Cheltenham, Victoria—a vibrant space that serves as both her personal studio and a dedicated art school. Focused on skills-based training for young artists, the studio emphasises technical excellence in drawing and painting, helping students build strong artistic foundations .
Mandalos’s work has been showcased in exhibitions both nationally and internationally, earning her recognition in some of Australia’s most prestigious art competitions. She has been a finalist in renowned prizes such as the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and The Lester Prize, cementing her reputation within the Australian art scene. Her work has also been featured at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra and is currently on display at West End Art Space as part of her Selected Works exhibition.
Through her dual roles as artist and educator, Mandalos nurtures the creative growth of her students while continuing to evolve in her own artistic practice.
