‘My mixed media work is an autobiographical exploration of time and memory. The collage elements in my works comprise photographic fragments of
distressed and weathered surfaces from my many years as a contributing photographer with Getty Images. These act as a type of ‘Vanitas’, communicating the fragility of all life, including our own. The combination of collage elements from disparate times and locations explores the slippage, the reconstructions and the fluid nature of our memories. These works act as an analogy of the complex construction of self through the accumulation of experiences, and in particular the way that the images we capture act to edit what we remember and therefore what we forget.’
