Fiona Halse – Mwsogl (sea moss)

This work also has illusionist based colour in sections and is held together and discovered schematically through line and dark accents. Tension on the picture plane is created through warm colours being held back by the cool colours. But there is an overall white and lightness to the work that unites the forms. This work has an underlying architectonic structure and space is found through line, but this work embraces lightness of touch and open surface areas. My work starts with a feeling and a connection with material, or sense of colour, tonal range or texture and this relates to a personal space. Tachist, haptic responses and drawing processes are used to find composition.
